There was no shortage of policy notes, core values and change models when elderly care home Topaz knocked on our door. What was missing was a single guiding and inspiring idea in which all these documents came together.

To arrive at that idea, we talked to directors, staff and clients from all walks of life, en passant being hugely impressed by the intrinsic motivation among people working in healthcare. From all that input, we distilled one four-word sentence that captures the conviction of the entire organisation. Based on that phrase, we developed a new corporate identity and a campaign to recruit new employees. From now on, those employees know from day one what idea they are contributing to: Topaz’s belief that all of life matters.
